LM311 Voltage Comparator IC DIP-8
The LM311 devices are single high-speed voltage comparators. These devices are designed to operate from a wide range of power supply voltages, including ?15-V supplies for operational amplifiers and 5-V supplies for logic systems. The output levels are compatible with most TTL and MOS circuits. These comparators are capable of driving lamps or relays and switching voltages up to 50 V at 50 mA. All inputs and outputs can be isolated from system ground. The outputs can drive loads referenced to ground, VCC or VCC?. Offset balancing and strobe capabilities are available, and the outputs can be wire-OR connected. If the strobe is low, the output is in the off state, regardless of the differential input.

Description
The LM217, LM317 are monolithic integrated circuits in TO-220, TO-220FP, D?PAK
and SOT223 packages intended for use as positive adjustable voltage regulators.
They are designed to supply more than 1.5 A of load current with an output voltage
adjustable over a 1.2 to 37 V range.
The nominal output voltage is selected by means of a resistive divider, making
the device exceptionally easy to use and eliminating the stocking of many fixed
regulators.

LM317T/NOPB
The LM117 and LM317-N series of adjustable 3-pin
positive voltage regulators are capable of supplying in
excess of 1.5 A over a 1.25-V to 37-V output range
and a wide temperature range. They are
exceptionally easy to use and require only two
external resistors to set the output voltage. Further,
both line and load regulation are better than standard
fixed regulators.
The LM117 and LM317-N offer full overload
protection such as current limit, thermal overload
protection and safe area protection. All overload
protection circuitry remains fully functional even if the
adjustment terminal is disconnected.
Typically, no capacitors are needed unless the device
is situated more than 6 inches from the input filter
capacitors, in which case an input bypass is needed.
An optional output capacitor can be added to improve
transient response. The adjustment terminal can be
bypassed to achieve very high ripple rejection ratios
that are difficult to achieve with standard 3-terminal
regulators.
Because the regulator is floating and detects only the
input-to-output differential voltage, supplies of several
hundred volts can be regulated as long as the
maximum input-to-output differential is not exceeded.
That is, avoid short-circuiting the output.
By connecting a fixed resistor between the
adjustment pin and output, the LM117 and LM317-N
can be also used as a precision current regulator.
Supplies with electronic shutdown can be achieved
by clamping the adjustment terminal to ground, which
programs the output to 1.25 V where most loads draw
little current.
LM318M
The LM118 series are precision high speed ? 15 MHz Small Signal Bandwidth
operational amplifiers designed for applications
? Ensured 50V/?s Slew Rate requiring wide bandwidth and high slew rate. They
? Maximum Bias Current of 250 nA feature a factor of ten increase in speed over general
purpose devices without sacrificing DC performance. ? Operates from Supplies of ?5V to ?20V
? Internal Frequency Compensation The LM118 series has internal unity gain frequency
compensation. This considerably simplifies its ? Input and Output Overload Protected
application since no external components are
? Pin Compatible with General Purpose Op necessary for operation. However, unlike most
Amps internally compensated amplifiers, external frequency
compensation may be added for optimum
performance. For inverting applications, feedforward
compensation will boost the slew rate to over
150V/?s and almost double the bandwidth.
Overcompensation can be used with the amplifier for
greater stability when maximum bandwidth is not
needed. Further, a single capacitor can be added to
reduce the 0.1% settling time to under 1 ?s.
The high speed and fast settling time of these op
amps make them useful in A/D converters, oscillators,
active filters, sample and hold circuits, or general
purpose amplifiers. These devices are easy to apply
and offer an order of magnitude better AC
performance than industry standards such as the
LM709.
The LM218-N is identical to the LM118 except that
the LM218-N has its performance specified over a
?25?C to 85?C temperature range. The LM318-N is
specified from 0?C to 70?C.
