Description of UCC28064ADR
Power ratings for the UCC28064A interleaved PFC controller are higher than previously possible. The system employs a Natural InterleavingTM method. There is no slave channel; both channels are synced to the same frequency and function as masters.
Faster reaction times, perfect phase-to-phase on-time matching, and transition mode operation are all made possible by this method for each channel. To achieve great light-load efficiency, the device incorporates a burst mode function.
To achieve standby power targets, burst mode eliminates the need to turn off the PFC during light load operation. When used in conjunction with the UCC24624 synchronous rectifier controller and the UCC25630x LLC controller, burst mode eliminates the requirement for an auxiliary fly back converter.
