AM26C32 is an improved replacement for?AM26LS32 IC. The AM26C32 device is a quadruple differential line receiver for balanced or unbalanced digital data transmission. The enable function is common to all four receivers and offers a choice of active-high or active-low input. The 3-state outputs permit connection directly to a busorganized system. Fail-safe design specifies that if the inputs are open, the outputs always are high. This DTMF receiver minimizes external component count by providing an on-chip differential input ampli-fier, clock generator, and a latched three state interface bus. The on-chip clock generator requires only a low cost TV crystal or ceramic resonator as an external component.

ISO3082 is an isolated half duplex differential line transceivers for TIA/EIA 485/422 applications. These devices are ideal for long transmission lines because the ground loop is broken to allow for a much larger common-mode voltage range. The symmetrical isolation barrier of the device is tested to provide 2500 VRMS of isolation for 60 s per UL 1577 between the bus-line transceiver and the logic-level interface.
Any cabled I/O can be subjected to electrical noise transients from various sources. These noise transients can cause damage to the transceiver and/or nearby sensitive circuitry if they are of sufficient magnitude and duration. These isolated devices can significantly increase protection and reduce the risk of damage to expensive control circuits.
