Description of MAX6373KA+T
The pin-selectable watchdog timers MAX6369-MAX6374 monitor microprocessor (P) activity and alert the user when a system is malfunctioning.
In order to show that the system is correctly executing code, the microprocessor should regularly toggle the watchdog input (WDI) during normal operation before the chosen watchdog timeout period expires.
The supervisor asserts a watchdog (WDO) output to indicate that the system is not executing the desired instructions within the anticipated time frame if the P does not supply a valid watchdog input transition before the timeout period expires.
he watchdog output pulse can be used to interrupt the system to signal processing faults or to reset the ?P. The MAX6373KA+T is adaptable watchdog timer supervisors that can boost system dependability by alerting users to faults in code execution.
To accommodate a variety of system timing applications, the series provides multiple pin-selectable watchdog timing options:
- Watchdog starting delay: offers a temporary hold-off before the watchdog timer begins.
- After the first starting delay, there is a typical running watchdog timeout period.
- Options for watchdog output/timing include push-pull or open drain (100ms) (1ms).
The MAX6369-MAX6374 are available in tiny 8-pin SOT23 packaging and operate throughout a supply voltage range of +2.5V to +5.5V.
